This usually happens in the wee hours when you're fast asleep. Don't waste money on replacing a good smoke alarm or throwing out good batteries. It's likely either a dead battery or dust in the unit. Your local hardware should test batteries for free . If it's bad, replace the dead battery. Read below for a shocking way to test at home! If they're good, clear the dust and spider webs out of the unit. Blow out with compressed air or vacuum the little sucker or do both. If the unit is good that should do it. So far Bill has just been known for some well received bootleg style remixes on the Market House Meats label, but we are glad to see him going with a different kind of thing here on this one. The original mix is accompanied by 2 groovin remixes done by artists Terrance Dizko, and Ted Logan. Original Mix - The Rufus Foundation is a dedication to Bill Preston's dear departed friend Rufus(though some say he used the alias George Carlin at times). Rufus loved music that was excellent for dancing, so Bill has brought some serious funk out with this one. A groovy diso bassline underlays some solid drums, and freaky electro glitch. You can hear Rufus coming through over the top with some nice info about the future(He was a time traveller afterall), and then the track polishes off with a most excellent sax lead! Terrance Dizko Deepside Remix- Terrance comes through with a deep driving version that introduces some nice spacy keys. The Bass bounces proper, and he keeps some glitchyness in there over the top. A solid remix that stays true to the original, while still bringing a fresh feel to the track. Fans of the funky jackin style T Dizko is known for are sure to dig what this one has to offer. Ted Logan's Jibajab Mix Also being a friend to Rufus, there was no question Ted had to be included on this project. Taking the jack down a notch for a smooth dub version is what he's done for us. The reworked bass line gives the track a new groove to work with, and he does just that implementing some funky organ to set the mix apart even more from the rest, and add yet some more variety to the release. The Rufus Foundation is currently available exclusively(regular price though) at Stompy, but all past and future Serial Sickness will soon be available at all your favorite digital outlets! Please take just a couple minutes to call or write the governor of Oregon today- he is the only person standing between the passing of this truly disastrous and sweeping assault on our public forests. If we can hold this off 'til Bush is out of office 100,000's of acres may be saved from the chainsaws! The Bush Land Management Legacy When the BLM released the WOPR (Western Oregon Plan Revision) draft plan in 2007, 30,000 members of the public commented; over 90% asked the BLM to save the remaining older forests, protect clean drinking water, and concentrate forest management on restoration and thinning small trees to protect communities from wildfire. The BLM ignored this common ground, common sense approach to forest management. More of the Same The final plan will: 1) remove BLM forests from the scientific framework of the Northwest Forest Plan; 2) ramp up clearcut logging across hundreds of thousands of acres; 3) remove streamside buffers that protect clean water and fish; and 4) log some of the last remaining older forests in western Oregon. By The Numbers The WOPR will increase logging by nearly 400% compared to current logging levels; get over 70% of the timber volume from clearcutting; shrink streamside reserves by 50%; add 180 million tons more carbon to the atmosphere compared to no logging (equivalent to the greenhouse gas emissions from 1 million cars driven for 132 years) and result in 1,300 miles of new roads. Take Action today! The Final Plan outlines a destructive management strategy that KS Wild and our allies will continue to challenge, and we need your help. Under law, Governor Kulongoski is allowed a 60-day "consistency review" period that began last week.
