( a global outreach CD and DVD project combining artists from North Africa, Middle East and USA)

ART OF HAND DRUMMING MARCH WORKSHOP SERIES:::::
In this fun, percussive intensive, you will learn:
* The art of improvising
* Techniques to play in solid time
* Traditional Middle Eastern Rhythms
*Ghanian West African Drumming and Dancing
*How drumming can be used as a tool for self-healing
* Traditional drumming styles from around the world
* Gentle yoga stretches to prepare body for drummin
* How to play various polyrhythms based off of Ghanaian and Moroccan music
* Solkattu, (traditional South Indian rhythmic vocalizations and exercise
*Frame Drums and African drums provided, please bring a drum if you have one. All levels welcome
Please reserve your space today as there are limited spaces available.
DETAILS::
Dates: First 4 Sundays in March, 3:00 – 5:15pm, Venice
First 4 Saturdays in March, 11 – 1:15pm, Topanga
*** If you need to miss one class, there can be a make up class scheduled
Fee: $120 for all 4 classes if reg. by Feb 28, $145 thereafter
