A high tech optical software and optical engineering services company has an opening for a full time Software Engineer. The client is an employee-owned, high-tech optical software and optical engineering services company that has been in business since 1963 and shipping commercial software since 1975.
They are seeking bright engineers who have solid software development skills, who want to be challenged and who are passionate about the work they do. The selected individual will have strong problem solving capabilities and excellent communication skills. You will be contributing to CAD/CAE software that is used to make products you use everyday.
The technologies you’ll be developing include 3D Solid Modeling, OpenGL and ray trace rendering engines. The group uses Agile methods to focus on a broad set of customer needs. Quality is built into our products from the outset, as that is what our customers demand.
Responsibilities:
o. Design and develop software utilizing predominately C++, Fortran, and UML.
o. Contribute to product quality through code refactoring, code reviews, unit testing, and testcase creation.
o. Actively seek out opportunities to expand their knowledge and skills and willingness to share it with others.
Requirements:
o. Strong foundation in OO Software Engineering practices (Required)
o. 1–5 years experience designing and coding OO software (Required)
o. Bachelors or Masters degree in a related field (Required)
o. Experience in C++, Fortran and UML a plus
o. Experience with Agile a plus
o. Experience in CAD/CAE/3D modeling a major plus
