Anyone know if there's any true artist's lofts left in LA? I mean, ungentrified, unreconstructed post-industrial buildings with utilities, space, potential and not a lot else.
I'm in the market for an apartment and/or roommate again. The roomie has found a giiiirl he wants to live with, so it's time I found a new place. No rush - we're all still good friends, and if it takes a couple months for the right place to open up, we're still cool.
Failing that I can find a loft, I'm happy with a traditional townhouse/apartment + roommate deal. Maybe you've got a recommendation for a place with good studios or single bedrooms. I could go that way too.
For anyone here who doesn't already know me, I'm a damn good roommate. I pay my rent on time, don't often make noise, take care of my half of throwing rockin' parties, and I'm the cleaner of the pair of roommates more often than not. I come with a big geeky library, two guinea pigs, and a japanese edition wii. References available on request.
My work is downtown, so I'm looking for something not too far from there.
