As the inventor of the bjurt (bjurt.com), I have a lot of stainless steel parts lying around. I have designed my parts to be useful for general construction (think Erector set) as well as for making bjurts.
Anyone who has seen my paper-clip art knows that I like to represent all kinds of objects and icons in steel, often in wire-frame. Given the season, I decided to make a Christmas present. Now that I have made it, I would like to sell it.
All structural parts are 304 stainless steel, so unless you take it out to sea, it will not rust. All fasteners (nuts, bolts, washers) are zinc-coated steel, and should last a long time, but can be replaced easily should they ever corrode. But if they do, you're really abusing your art!
The body is composed of 24 bar-like brace pieces, and the bow comprises 12 approximately 2" x 3" mending plates. Since mending plates have a rectangular array of holes, the spiral, flower-like bow design demonstrates rational approximation of irrational values and lattice strain.
I am selling this piece for $1000.
Please contact me if you are interested. If you are in Southern California, I will deliver it myself. If you are farther away, I will ship it via whatever method you chose, allowing you to balance cost verses delivery time.
Thank you for your attention.
Cheers,
-bender
