Hello Beautiful LA Burners!
Ever since last year's burn, I've been interested in bringing container storage out to the playa. I built a prototype container that works as a kitchen, shower, wardrobe and pantry during the burn, and about a cargo van's worth of storage the rest of the year. You can see photos of it here.

I'm almost finished building three more of these containers, and I'm looking for people/camps who want to use one during our inaugural year. They are designed to be moved via the trailer you can see in the last two photos. Using this trailer, I will drop off the container at your camp, and pick it up and transport it to storage at the end of the burn. All we ask is to share fuel, transport and storage costs (approx. $480, or, $40/mo.). If you're in LA, for $100 I'll let you load your container and we'll take everything that fits up for you.
The design, dimensions and tips on how to build one are open source, and I will be encouraging people to build their own during the next year, in preparation for next year's burn.
As far as larger containers, if you're interested in that, feel free to join the Google group I set up for the Playa Container Co-Op. The idea is to create a place to share information, resources, vendors and suppliers to people and camps who are interested in using mobile container storage out on the playa. Our outlook is to get a system in place for Burning Man 2009.

Feel free to write me with questions, etc. Please get back to me asap if you're interested.
