One of the Internet’s largest exchanges for businesses for sale is looking for a highly motivated team member to join us as a Web Designer in our Pasadena office. You will be responsible for the design of our website UI and marketing materials. In this role, you will work closely with the product development team transforming requirements into graphical designs and “production ready” HTML.
You will also be responsible for maintaining and managing the existing HTML and CSS (classes, styles, id’s) across the entire web site, making sure the HTML/CSS code is consistent, efficient, and well formatted.
Qualified candidates will have extensive knowledge of HTML/XHTML, CSS, JavaScript/DOM scripting, server side includes, cross browser issues, be up to date on relevant W3C standards, and have some experience in graphic design.
We are seeking an individual to work at our Pasadena location on a part-time basis, starting with 2 full days per week initially.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work with the Product Management and Engineering teams focusing on overall UI design, prototyping and coding
• Design and create web ready HTML and graphics as required for the application
• Create graphical mockups and/or marketing material from requirement documents
REQUIREMENTS:
• 3+ years professional HTML/CSS/JavaScript experience
• A strong portfolio, which documents a significant body of work and a well-developed visual aesthetic
• Substantial experience with standard visual design applications (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks)
• Expert-level knowledge of HTML, CSS, SSI, and server side directory structures.
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to effectively implement designs in sound HTML/CSS
• Explore and select different visual/physical representations of content or features and to represent the relationships between these features using various diagrams.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
DESIRABLES:
• Experience with ASP, IIS, and SQL Server
• Good understanding of web content management systems.
• A BA/BS degree (preferred, but not required)
