this is the closest to real italian gelato you can get to in los angeles. light and fluffy. all the food is amazing as well; the rigatoni in the homemade, basil sweetened sauce, is the best. - joycesu , posted 07/12/05 |

an old-school family-run ice cream parlor with the best gelato in the city. they also serve basic home-style italian food - pasta, pizza, meatball (singular, it's a big meatball). their sauces tend to be sweet. a great atmosphere and the staff is pretty cool. - petey , posted 11/20/04 |

Hearty portions of home-cooked italian pastas, freshly baked bread, the best chicken soup in Los Angeles, and tempting scrumptious desserts (the highlight of which is their homemade gelato) -- Al Gelato is NOT for the low/no-carb food fanatic.
