 The food was great..in fact it was the best cheeseburger I have ever had...I had to deduct one star though for the price $30 for 2 burgers 2 cokes 2 fries and a piece of pie If I would of known the price going in it wouldnt of been a problem....but we were the first ones in and the menu's were not out yet..yada yada yada foods great though :) - Deet Man , posted 08/24/05 |

Two words: HICKORY BURGER. Four more words: PIPING HOT TASTY FRENCH FRIES. Seriously though, I love the brisk old-timey service, no chit chat, just 'whaddlyahave?' and whammo, there are your fries, ketchup, burger (with Tillamook cheese) and soda in a paper cone. I've been eating here since I was old enough to eat solid food and it's still the best burger ever. The menu is straight up burgers and a couple of sandwiches, and the best pie for dessert. One of the last Authentic Los Angeles left overs. Old Timer staff, Hangover cutting meals, whether it be love or a long night of drinking, the Apple Pan's old home style grease pan cuisine will get you back to your fighting weight and then some. The Apple Pan's a legendary burger shack on the West Side. It's just a cook station surrounded by a u-shaped counter, but burger lovers come in droves. Expect a long wait at lunch time when it seems like the entire populous of the mall across the street's waiting for a stool. This LA landmark's been in the same location since 1947, and it looks like nothing's changed but the prices. The menu is simple with two burgers, ham, tuna, or cheese sandwiches, and terrific fries. They server up fast and the burgers are some of the best around. Why "Apple"? For the apple pie! Served with ice cream if you want it.
