the floor plan is divided up pretty well, beautiful people and amazing display of fetish attire, bar access was pretty decent... but they ran out of water upstairs in the VIP around twelve thirty on a Saturday night with a full house - it seemed interesting for a club in Hollywood. also the music was fast enough to not put you to sleep but slow enough to make it a real challenge to pull a real dance move on the floor. With the open play and assorted talented hands, it makes you wish Fetish Night was more often! this last Saturday was enough exposure to the LA nightlife circuit for this girl to wet her whistle without getting plastered. cheers! - the angel* , posted 06/11/07 |

For old school Goths, it’s kinda’ like watchin’ the kids play on your front lawn. They’re so cute and they put so much into it. Bar Sinister has dusted off the old Bauhuas vinyl and made BDSM as common as massage therapy. I’ve been hitin’ this place since ‘97. Is it wrong when an LA fetish bar feels like your living room? Not in décor, but just in comfort level? I mean, it’s as close as I can get to a misty southern church at midnight or my old front porch. I've been to Sinister and it's not THAT great. Compare to other places I've been to, the music can be alot more hardcore. Plus, the dance floor is surprisingly small. Every body kept bumping into each other on the dancefloor. I do admit though, The fashion in there is bad ass, but this isn't the best club in L.A. - Unsubscribed , posted 01/01/06 |

Tiny dance floor (think bar instead of dance club). Since I mainly go out for dancing, this place just doesn't cut it. Seriously, they seem to have more room for their paid dancers than they do for patrons. Very cool (and BIG) outside patio area, though and they do usually have bands play, so there are redeeming qualities. If you are one of the folks that likes to spend your night outside smoking, this place is perfect for you. - James , posted 10/15/05 |

There are a few things to enjoy at this club. The music often good. And don't forget all the beautiful people! But the dancefloor is tiny! They also allow smoking in their often packed outdoor patio where they have the live music. For a non smoker it limits your areas of enjoyment. - MistressPrime , posted 09/10/04 |

Bar Sinister is like no place I have ever been. It is completely beautiful, elegant, sexy, and liberating all in one place. They have two bars, a nice dancefloor, a voyueristic upstairs "play" area, and great bands every week. Highly recommended if your fave color is black! - angela , posted 09/08/04 |

Bar Sinister has been kind of hit or miss for me, but when it's good, it's very, very good. Terrific outdoor patio area with live bands (some suprisingly good, some make you want to stick skewers through your eardrums). Upstairs area has some fetish play, but it's not really a focus of the evening. Most people stay downstairs and socialize. A lot of people cross between Sinister and Dungeon since they're only a block apart. If you're goth, or like wearing capes in general, I would totally recommend Sinister. Bar Sinister is a dark gothic club that spins heavy Goth/Industrial sounds every saturday night inside and has a live band perform in the outside court yard area.
