My Dog DIED at Best Friends Animal Hospital
Terrible service- I took my beloved dog in to get neutered at Best Friends Animal Hospital and he ended up dying while under anethesia. I am going to the board, I obtained an attorney & I am curently filing a claim in small claims. Dr. Habib sent the claim to her insurance company but recently decided to deny the claim and not pay. Now, I am going to do everything I can so that this does not happen to anyone else. I was not asking for a lot and nothing will bring my baby back- all I wanted was the cost of the dog and subsequent cremation & she decided not to pay. To add insult to injury- the staff also lost my dog's collar, which as anyone could imagine as very senimental. They took no blame whatsoever and even blamed the loss of the collar on the company that did the cremation. In my opinion and in the opinion of other vets which I gave the medical records to, there were many mistakes made during the surgery that were not caught during the surgery which made him go into cardiac arrest and he died. He was only 15 months old and in perfect health. According to medical records he was under anethesia for a few hours any the surgery should have only taken an hour. When I called to check on the dog, the technician told me the surgery was done and everything went well. An hour and half later I got a call from the doctor saying he was dead. What was he doing under for so long? Then I found out they were going to do an XRAY after the surgery which I did not approve and I did NOT ask for- my guess is that they were trying to run up the bill and by doing so my dog died. Now I will do whatever I can to get the justice my dog deserves. I did not want to go pulic with this, I thought for sure tha they would have taken responsibility but since they did not, I feel like i need to go after them and somehow make them pay for the sorrow they have caused me and my dog.
