My Dog DIED at Best Friends Animal Hospital
Terrible service- I took my beloved dog in to get neutered at Best Friends Animal Hospital and he ended up dying while under anethesia. I am going to the board, I obtained an attorney & I am curently filing a claim in small claims. Dr. Habib sent the claim to her insurance company but recently decided to deny the claim and not pay. Now, I am going to do everything I can so that this does not happen to anyone else. I was not asking for a lot and nothing will bring my baby back- all I wanted was the cost of the dog and subsequent cremation & she decided not to pay. To add insult to injury- the staff also lost my dog's collar, which as anyone could imagine as very senimental. They took no blame whatsoever and even blamed the loss of the collar on the company that did the cremation. In my opinion and in the opinion of other vets which I gave the medical records to, there were many mistakes made during the surgery that were not caught during the surgery which made him go into cardiac arrest and he died. He was only 15 months old and in perfect health. According to medical records he was under anethesia for a few hours any the surgery should have only taken an hour. When I called to check on the dog, the technician told me the surgery was done and everything went well. An hour and half later I got a call from the doctor saying he was dead. What was he doing under for so long? Then I found out they were going to do an XRAY after the surgery which I did not approve and I did NOT ask for- my guess is that they were trying to run up the bill and by doing so my dog died. Now I will do whatever I can to get the justice my dog deserves. I did not want to go pulic with this, I thought for sure tha they would have taken responsibility but since they did not, I feel like i need to go after them and somehow make them pay for the sorrow they have caused me and my dog. - Amy , posted 04/30/08

Way over-priced! Just check around!!
I brought my poodle in recently, and was stunned what they were charging for medications. Just look on-line and see for yourself. And the wait time (even with an appt.) seemed endless. Try Dr. Sharp on Radford just off Sherman Way. Very knowledgeable, super friendly, and reasonably priced. We did and now our poodle is happy and healthy - and so is our wallet! - James , posted 10/19/07

Thank goodness for Best Friends Animal Hospital
My cat seemed fine but was getting old. My friend told me I should take her to the vet and recommended Best Friends Vet. They saw my cat that night and found a problem that I didn't know about. The medication I got seems to have worked and my cat is SO much better! I love my cat! Thank you to everyone at Best Friends Vet who helped her !!! - Margaret , posted 09/15/07

They are no 'best friend' to us!
In the past we were willing to put up with the tremendously long waits for every appt. and the gross over-charging for all medicaitons (check for yourself at 1 (800) PetMeds!) because of convenience of the business and the history we have established with each of our pet's circustances...but no more. We just experienced the worst customer relations we have ever encountered. In regards to the painful decision of euthanizing our dear cat we were told one thing on the phone by the front desk (yes they could do it)...then told something else 30 minutes later once we were in the office (no they couldn't do it). We were told our cat could be placed (yahoo!) and we would be kept apprised of our cat's well being - then the next day were told that we no longer had any rights to our cat and would receive no information what so ever. Dr. Habib refused to deal with this personally, even after requesting to speak with her. Shame on Dr. Sindy Habib (and the staff who work under her) for handling a very delicate situation with all the care of a bull in a China shop. Our children are still upset about it. - Wayne , posted 08/14/07

Excellent gentle care for your pet
The staff at this hospital is curteous and caring. Back in January my cat got sick and I had to take her there . The doctor that took care of my kitty was very patient with her. She was very scared but they took great care of her. Before I knew it she was healthy again. I had to take her there again for something else and I was happy to see they are very thorough. - Unsubscribed , posted 08/31/04
