Cool bar in Attwater Village
Done up like an old hunting lodge, The Big Foot Lodge has great atmosphere. They also have local rock bands and DJs playing nightly. If you're looking for a relaxing yet cool night at a bar, this is the place to go. Good beer selection. Watch out though-some nights they charge. I haven't yet figured out and rhyme or reason to which ones though. Have seen some great local bands there for free though! - divaDanielle , posted 09/08/04

kitchy forest theme
This is a cool non-pretentious bar that is forest themed. It looks like the inside of a log cabin with pine trees, stuffed bears (fake i'm pretty sure), and natural looking furniture. They used to have live bands play there but i think they lost their liscence. It's a great place to go hang out. - Tammy , posted 09/05/04

Feels like a great lost bar from Twin Peaks.
This place belongs in Seattle...but L.A.?? Like an old woodsey ski lodge, The Big Foot Lodge feels like a great spot from Twin Peaks. you ca get a Pabst Blue Ribbon, or a 'better' beer for the sootier tastes. Walking back out on street is a wakeup of sorts...makes you just want to go back inside. - Señor , posted 08/31/04

National park meets wet bar.
3172 Los Feliz Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90039. Brick, nondescript fa?ade outside, small national forest inside it?s like going to camp with a wet bar. Featuring cocktail names like "Roasted Marshmallow" and "Girl Scout Cookie" (which gets its badge in booze - small, green and potent) and top-notch choice of brews you've got to be trying not to have a good time here. Live bands play throughout the week, if their fabulous dj isn't spinning (mostly classic punk, rockabilly, blues, etc.) and the vintage reels get dusted off and played toward the back of the room on busy nights. Open from 8p-2a seven days a week, this is the perfect place to drink a few hours of time away. Weekends the place gets packed, though, so either arrive early to get a seat or come during the week. Any questions? Give 'em a call: 323.662.9227. - Donut , posted 08/31/04
Alternative Music Club with a Sasquatch!
One of the great indie bars and clubs in Los Angeles. Authentic woody lodge atmosphere... Go on Wednesday nights when Lee of Dionysus Records is spinning discs. - Futura Girl , posted 08/31/04

THE coolest bar in Los Feliz, sit back, sink in.
This is definitely one of the funkiest bars I have been able to find in Los Angeles. Located barely east of the 5 on Los Feliz Blvd., this place is like stepping back in time to the 50's "lodge" era, and combining it with punk rock and a dash of Frank and Dean. The bar is wooden, long, and specializes in their own conconctions. Try the "toastes marshmallow" for a campout cocktail experience. They have live music certain nights of the week, check their website for more info. Great place for a group of friends to chill at. No pretention here. - Kevin , posted 08/31/04

Log Cabin Themed Hipster Bar in Atwater Village
This kitschy rockabilly bar in Atwater Village is a swank hybrid that mixes Hollywood style with a log cabin, Smokey the Bear forest motif. It features cozy booths, interesting mixed drinks, and an assortment of good music from DJs and live acts. Best of all, if the scene gets to be too much, it's stumbling distance to the Roost. - Charlie , posted 08/26/04

A bar good enough for woodsy the owl!!
This dimly lit bar has logs everywhere, and animatronic racoon and a drink said to be made out of very naughty girl scouts! I recommend the Girl Scout Cookie (tastes like a thin mint) or the flaming marshmellow drink. Both are excellent.

Head there on Friday nights to party with the rockabilly scene or saturdays to rub elbows with the local hipsters. - Kelli , posted 08/31/04
