Okay, I'm the most computer illiterate person on the planet. Short of finding a good car mechanic or hair dresser, nothing is more frightening than needing help with computer problems. I found one: Computer Friendly at 3159 Los Feliz Blvd. (323) 665-0198 Owner - Karen I have a 1999/2002 iMac and I haven't had that many problems with her. Like all of us, we just get old and need more TLC. Once, she gave me an upgrade from 8.6 to 9.2 for 45 bucks because she split the download with another person needing the same thing. Another time, she actually came to my house ( she was in the neighborhood as is her shop) when my computer went completely blank. She pressed the reset button ( which is way hidden and the size of a pen head and impossible to find on my own) and it was fine. She didn't charge me a thing. And now the last thing is that I added memory to my computer (after 5 years, it was about time). She charged the cost of the memory plus forty five dollars. She was out of the office when I paid the bill. Her assistant charged me 99.00 and Karen, the owner called a few days later (today, July 9, 2005 ) to say that she overcharged me and for me to send a new check. She's tearing up the old one. And not only that, she called to see how my computer was doing and if it was running better. (It was, that memory has made a world of a difference.) Is that honesty and integrity or what. Where are you going to find a computer repair person that great. She's good with both Mac and PC's so check her out. Give Matthew a call if you need tech support. I am computer illiterate and he helpled me out a lot. He got rid of several viruses and showed me how to prevent them in the future. He also set up a wireless router for me. He is reliable and guarantees his work. I had a question on something a few days after he finished, and he came back out to my house to explain it to me. - sara , posted 11/01/04 |

I buy and take my macs for repair at Creative Computers in Santa Monica. It is also the home of the pc/macmall on the internet. Great people, negotiable prices on equipment purchases, great deals and customer service far surpasses anywhere I've taken my macs.
