...BUT HE'S NOT JUST A CHIROPRACTOR
After one particularly deep session with him I had to ask Charlie why all the other chiropractors that I'd been to sucked so much and and he didn't. He laughed and said that when he finished the program at Chiropratic School the last thing that he wanted to do was to be the kind of chiropractor that the school had taught him to be. So instead he kept taking workshops and learning other bodywork while at the same time making it a point to work on at least one person everyday to stay sharp.
Charlie is the best. I swear it. I've been to a dozen others and none of them do what he does. On his brochure that you can pick up from The Bey's Garden at 2919 Main Street in Santa Monica it states that his services include:
Cranial and Full Spinal Adjusting
Deep Muscle Work
Thai Integrated Stretching
and even
Equine and Canine adjusting
That still doesn't even come close to what you get from a session. Instead of the "Jiffy Lube" approach to adjusting the spine that most Chiropractors take, Charlie's sessions are unique to each situation and each visit is a completely different and new experience every time. many times he doesn't even "crack" me. He'll sometimes just work my muscles and do some Cranial work if he feels that this is what is needed. I've recommended him to so many of my friends who have all come back to thank me again and again and the more that I talk about him the more I find that other people I know are seeing him and are praising the work he does as much as I do. The last time he was working on me i realized that I trust him as much as I have ever trusted anyone ever in my life. My breathing slows and I am able to relax and gain the full benefit of these treatments. One time I was so relaxed on the table that my breathing actually stopped on an exhale for a very very very long time and I believe that i was in a deeply altered state. This happened and Charlie was right there allowing it to happen, choosing to end the session and leaving me to "come around" on my own time. Which i did momentarily feeling relaxed, rested and ready for the world!
He always knows what's appropriate and I always feel like we are doing the work together, that we are on a path that is unique to our healing journey together, rather than feeling like I'm simply being manipulated in a methodical repetative way.
Charlie has office hours at The Bey's Garden weekly and also treats people at the farmer's market at Main and Ocean Park, Sundays in Santa Monica.
