After the worst year of my life -- Frank Dino has started 2008 great for me!
Being an incredibly busy woman, I rarely have the time to take to pamper myself and when I decided to treat myself to a haircut, I called Dino Clark Salon and was fitted in right away and on the day of my appointment, the owner, Mr. Frank Dino, walked up to me and introduced himself and immediately recognized my fear and trepidation and personally took care of me with all the graciousness and kindness I had not experienced by a professional hair designer, ever -- he took hair that hadn't been tended to in over 8 years and turned me into a vibrant, beautiful and younger looking woman and quite frankly (pardon the pun) I have not felt this good in years -- it's a great thing to be treated with the respect and kindness that he showed me and made me feel secure and safe in his hands with my hair and gave me back the confidence I had been lacking for quite some time....So for the woman who had a bad experience with him -- I think you might have just gotten some wires crossed, because I truly enjoyed his professionalism, warmth and kindness and most of all absolutely LOVE what he did to my hair -- haven't looked this good in years....And everyone who has seen the "new" me agrees. Thank you, Frank, for your time, patience, artistry and most of all kindness. I will definitely be back and will certainly refer anyone to Dino Clark Salon (especially Frank Dino) that I feel deserves Frank's time, kindness, patience and again, his artistry..... - September , posted 01/12/08

It's the person, not the salon
I love this salon. Specifically, I love my stylist, Jamie. She is completely professional, both in attitude and in talent. He colours are spectacular. Her cuts are always just right, too. I don't go in for any of the trendy colours or cuts, preferring something more natural. She is VERY respectful of what I feel looks best on me, while offering suggestions she thinks I may like. I went to her for years before leaving the area, then returned to her immediately upon returning to Los Angeles. I live in Beverly Hills, but drive all the way to Santa Monica just for her. I don't know Frank well. It surprises me, though, to read this other review of him. - Jeri Ann , posted 09/04/07

Horrible service at Dino & Clark Salon in Venice, CA
I had a horrible experience with Dino & Clark Salon this past May 2007. I made an appt. with Frank Dino, co-owner of the salon for a cut and color. Frank was rude and completely unprofessional. On the day of my appointment, I went in with 3 photos in hand so that Frank had a clear idea of how short I wanted my hair. Every time I asked him what his thoughts for a style was, he’d say something to the effect of “stop freaking out and just relax. You’re too gorgeous to worry about this because anything I do to you will look amazing”. I appreciated the fake compliment, but should have known that his avoidance of an actual answer was my cue to get out of the chair. He even went as far as to literally yell at me, with another patron watching in confusion when I asked him AGAIN, what his thoughts for my style was. Excuse me for wanting to know what you’re going to do to my head. I called Frank 4 days after he cut my hair to say that I loved my color but was really unhappy with my cut. Instead of offering me a solution, such as a discount on color next time I go in, he told me I looked worse when I walked into his salon than when I walked out and that he should have known someone like me would react this way. He chose to insult a client rather than show customer service. By the end of the phone conversation, and simply to get me to stop talking and get off the phone, HE promised me half my money back and transfered me through to the receptionist who took my name and address to send me a check (since I paid cash $230 dollars!! Never pay cash). Two weeks later when I still had not gotten my check, I called Frank, left a very short and sweet message and instead of getting a check I got a nasty letter in the mail telling me if I expect a money back guarantee, to go to Nordstrom’s and see if they can provide hair care services. He was rude, unprofessional and is a poor excuse for a man and a business owner. Save yourselves the headache and AVOID this salon. - Joliene , posted 06/28/07

Hip Salon
They love crazy colors at this salon. I'd recommend this place for an urban crowd not afraid to be daring. The atmosphere of this salon is very modern and trendy. - Hungry , posted 12/07/04
