hola, I cruised by the newish Dr Freeclouds location & was horribly disappointed. I do not know much about the Fountain Valley area, but the mini mall where the shop sits is just horrible - there is nothing there at all & the space for the new shop is downright depressing. A very sterile standard & stupid strip mall spot. I am not sure what motivated this move, besides the obvious desire to reduce the rent that must be insane at the antimaill (there may be a huge story behind that move that will explain everything), but I have a feeling that another great OC record shop is about to close its doors for good... which is really to bad. I still remember how blown away I was the first time I went to Dr Freeclouds - a real love of records was obvious, the kids that worked there were clearly having fun, and the bin rats were chatty and friendly - a really great healthy scene. When I hit this place over spring break weekend it was empty, the sign out front was blowing around like trash, and the staff seemed completely bewildered regarding what the were doing in the middle of nowhere OC.
