People reviewing wrong vet clinic
"Eagle Rock Pet Clinic" is a wonderful vet service run by Dr. Birr on Colorado Blvd. People here seem to be talking about "Eagle Rock EMERGENCY Pet Clinic". A completely different place. Eagle Rock Pet Clinic is caring and progressive thinking. The vet is warm, considerate and she really listens to you. It it my most highly recommended pet clinic. Please note the difference and post in the correct place. FWIW, I have also had great service at the Eagle Rock Emergency Pet Clinic as well. - Marie , posted 09/26/06

DO NOT GO HERE!!
MY 4 YEAR OLD CAT (VERY HEALTHY) WAS BREATHING ALITTLE HEAVY ON A FRIDAY NIGHT, SO TO BE SAFE I TOOK HIM TO EAGLE ROCK PET CLINIC (SINCE MY REGULAR VET WAS ALREADY CLOSED). THAT WAS THE BEGINING OF MY NIGHTMARE. MY CAT WAS PLAYING, EATING, DRINKING, GOING TO THE BATHROOM AND MEOWING BEFORE I TOOK HIM THERE, HE WAS JUST BREATHING ALITTLE HEAVY. THE STAFF WAS RUDE FROM THE GET GO, NOT ONLY TO ME BUT TO EVERYONE THERE. WHEN THE VET CHECKED OUT MY CAT, SHE TOLD ME HE WAS IN CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE AND HE NEEDED TO STAY OVER NIGHT FOR TESTS AND TREATMENT, TO THE TUNE OF $770.00. THE NEXT DAY WHEN I PICKED HIM UP AT 7AM, HE WAS LIFELESS, LIMP IN MY ARMS AND BARELY ABLE TO KEEP HIS EYES OPEN. THEY HAD PUT HIM ON 2 MEDICATIONS, ONE TO REGULATE HIS HEART BEAT AND A DIURETIC TO PULL THE FLUID OUT OF HIS LUNGS. THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND HE DIDN'T EAT, MEOW, GO TO THE BATHROOM, OR BARELY WALK. HE WAS THOWING UP AND, AND STRUGGLING TO BREATH. I CALLED THE CLINIC 2 TIMES IN 2 DAYS AND THEY SAID IT WAS ALL NORMAL. MONDAY MORNING I TOOK HIM TO HIS REGULAR VET, THEY WERE CONFUSED ON HIS CONDITION. THEN I TOOK HIM TO A SPECIALIST AND THEY WERE APPALLED. I PAID THEM $779.00 FOR THEM TO TELL ME THAT MY CAT'S HEART WAS EXCEPTIONALLY HEALTHY AND HE HAD A VIRUS IN HIS CHEST THAT SOEM STERIODS WOULD GET RID OF. NOT ONLY WAS I TREMENDOUSLY HAPPY THAT MY CAT WAS HEALTHY, I SAW MY CAT COME BACK TO LIFE. THE SPECIALIST TOLD ME THERE WERE SEVERAL THINGS THAT ALARMED HER: WHY DID EAGLE ROCK PET CLININC SEDATE MY CAT AFTER THEY THOUGHT HE HAD A HEART CONDIDITON (THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS), WHY ERE BOTH OF HIS PAWS SHAVED, BRUISED AND SCABBY, WHY DID THEY SHAVE HIS NECK? SHE ALSO TOLD ME THAT THE MEDICINE THEY PUT HIM ON WAS KILLING HIM, HE WAS SEVERLY DE-HYDRATED FROM THE DIURETIC AS WELL AS HAD NOT EATEN IN 3 DAYS AND WAS THROWING UP FROM THE HEART PILL. SO I ASK YOU, WAS IT WORTH IT? NO, I WOULD HAVE DRIVEN ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO GET THE CARE MY CAT NEEDED AND PAID ANY AMOUNT OF MONEY. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE IF YOU WANT THEM TO GET BETTER AND LIVE. THESE PEOPLE CARE ABOUT THE MONEY, NOT YOU OR YOUR PET - ALICIA , posted 07/11/06

If ya gotta go, ya gotta go
Okay, I just want to say that as a rule, we cats hate ALL vets! But there are just some times where it's an emergency and you have to go. I've been to this place and they definitely do the job. My human has been taking all her cats there for many years (she complains that we never get sick except at night or on weekends), and she thinks this clinic is great! - Unsubscribed , posted 11/15/04

Got a late night emergency?
It can be pretty freaky to have a pet emergency late at night. It's not like you can head down to the ER, and not many of us have our vet's home number. These guys are open all night, and are very friendly and supportive. There aren't a lot of places that do this sort of service, so thank god they do it well. - 5000! , posted 11/11/04

A pet clinic to be trusted
Finding a vet can be harder than finding a primary care physician for yourself. Try this place. Their vets are good, their rates reasonable, and it's easy to find parking in this neighborhood. - Mark , posted 11/01/04
