The fullest scoop on Alternative Energy
This book is brought to you by one of the biggest most influential environmental non-profit groups, Environmental Defense. They are a lobbying group and a business change group. What most non-profits complain about, ED goes out and just does. That's one reason I've been contributing to their Global Warming fund.
This book is written by the president of that group and Miriam Horn, also staff there. They have gone all over the US interviewing each of the alternative energy companies that they speak about, and the information is actually positive. For the first time something has been published that shows a positive outcome for humanity in the midst of global warming, if the changes are made quick enough and swiftly enough. The technology is out there, and each of these start-ups and mid-sized companies are moving forward to a future where carbon isn't growing or hanging over our heads with death. The book tirelessly points out the need for a cap-and-trade system in the government, whereby the big oil companies are handicapped by the amount of pollution they are responsible for and the funding for alternative energy is where it belongs - in alternative energy companies, and not in the wallets of ExxonMobil, etc. For anyone interested in what should happen next and the plethora of alternative energy sources, this book is a must read.
