EuroPane has world-class coffee and pastries. If you haven't been there yet, do yourself a favor and try it. Now (assuming you're reading this during their business hours). The baked goods are absolutely sublime...melting in your mouth when they ought to, and being crumbly or crispy when that fits the bill. Their mocha is the best, hands-down, I've ever tasted. Service is friendly, atmosphere somehow manages to merge neighborhood and classy European sensibilites into one happy bundle. An absolute treat for the senses. - Leslie , posted 09/03/04 |

EuroPane is in an unassuming (and not very comfortable) little retail space on a random block of Pasadena. But the pastries and coffee are reason to go there. In the morning there are fresh French-style pastries that are to die for (fruit tarts are outstanding!) and the coffee is great (I think it's Torrefazione). Sumi Chang is the owner, and while the prices are high, the breads, muffins and richer items too earn her credit for high quality.
