What a great tribe! I am inspired by and in awe of your creativity. I am an artist in a variety of formats including altered books and shrines, tailored to your theme, colors, and desires. My work is frequently given as gifts or used in weddings or other celebrations, but can be a simple object of contemplation or memory. From retro to vintage to romantic to elegant to international to downright funky, your wish is my command at Fragile Industries Studios: www.fragileindustries.com. I call my work "participatory altered art" -- I invite your participation in the design and creation of artwork with unique meaning for you, including your own personal mementos or photographs if you wish. Also, my pieces involve the viewer into becoming a participant in the work: pages turn, doors open, drawers pull out, revealing the art in new and different configurations. Finally, I can also create a partially-finished work or kit that you and/or your guests and loved ones can participate in the completion. My photo album on my Tribe personal page has photos of several of my altered books -- one was a Mother's Day gift based on the Gee's Bend quilts (shown above in custom presentation box), and another was a celebration of a very long friendship, complete in itself, but with a level page surface so the recipient could use it as a scrapbook if she desired.
