I hope you enjoy waiting fellas. This standard has eased over the years, but the bartenders are notorious for a) never looking up at you b) making you wait an extra ten minutes if you're a guy. Otherwise a decent bar. Great when it's not crowded. - Derek , posted 04/06/05 |

Dim red lights, Asian decor, dark little corners, good juke box, powerful mixed drinks, cuddly booths. This is a good date spot, but its also fun with a small group of friends. 1514 Hillhurst Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90027. This is where Indiana Jones would've had a drink - and had to have pawned his golden idol to afford it. Decorated like a Chinese bordello, Good Luck Bar is enjoyable eye candy, and more affordable if you stay away from the house specialties. This place also fills up to the rafters on the weekends and becomes impossibly loud, so my recommendation is, if you're going to go, go during the week. The backroom is the best lounging spot, however, with cushy couches and dim lighting. Also, the staff is surprisingly accommodating if you decide to take on one of the circular end tables and play it like a bongo. And have a friend do a dervish in the center of the room while you do so. I know! Amazing.
