One of LA's true gems...
From classical to jazz to opera to world music and Star Wars (seems like all John Williams does is hang about playing the SW score), the Hollywood Bowl is one of the best dang venues in town. Yes, do bring your own food as the Patina group owns all the food kiosks and everything is horribly expensive and not really worth it. Same goes for bottles of wine.

Get yourself an buttcover if you're going to be seated in the benches, bring a sweater to protect against those little canyon breezes, and find your favorite affordable seating section on your first visit so you know where to sit when you return.

Parking is a bitch, however. You will inevitably get stuck in the rush to leave in ANY parking lot you choose. So get off your big butt and get there early to find parking in the nearby neighborhoods before they block off the streets and WALK/HIKE. - Sherrie , posted 07/21/05

Great Venue
A Hollywood Classic... you can see anyone from John Williams, Norah Jones, to Air. It's a great place, but does get cold at night. Bring your own food because what they offer is a rip off. - Sarah , posted 10/31/04
