Western Breakfast w/French Toast!
Evertime I go here, I go with the Western Breakfast or the Corned Beer & Hash. Ask your server to switch the pancakes for French Toast. Order a cup o' joe and you're good to go. They make a damn good breakfast. - El , posted 02/10/06

Pies are great...
The pies are great. I'm a fan of their Chocolate Cream Pie but the rest of the food is not that good. I'd say the food is probably not quite as good as Denny's even. But, it's got a big twirling sign outside! It's open late too. - , posted 01/23/06

i fell in love over a strawberry pie once....
it's all about the experience -- the gritty atmosphere, greasy food, wierdo waitress, and the pies... good God they were good. - kim , posted 10/07/05

house of pies for pie only
I wouldnt really eat there but if it's pie your after this is THE place..
I love the cherry pie, damn fine cherry pie. So heavy, full of fruit you can barely lift it. The cherries are not too sweet so it has a nice tang. Little disapointed with the apple pies though. - gabriel , posted 09/08/05

Great place to meet
Amongst my group of friends when it is late and we are traveling in Los Feliz the choice is House of Pies. Although FRED 62 is across the street--and much more expensive and sometimes the hipster scene is just not for sore eyes. The food at HOP truly is pretty bad but it is the HOUSE OF PIES and their pie is outrageous (German chocolate cream pie...mmmmm). Where else locally in HOP can you grab some decent fries, eat pie, have coffee and sit outside to b.s. with your pals without witnessing armenian gang members shoot it out? - Deb , posted 04/08/05

notBad
recently i went to the h.o.p. for the 1st time
i found the food okay, but too expensive ...up the street at 'home' the food is better & the prices are about the same ...one nice thing that happened while i was there tho was a memeber of the party of 3 indie rocker types at the next table dropped a whole plate of eggs benidect breakfast on his lap ...course this is the kind of guy who bought those polyesther knit pants for about $2.75 in some thrift shop, so that was no big deal ...the nice part: the waitress brought him a whole new breakfast even tho it wasnt the reatraunt's fault he spilled his food ...i call that decent service - stosh , posted 04/05/05

"Hell yeah, I want Pie!"
Ahhh, the House of Pies! They have good pie. Great diner food, good service. Soup and specials are good, too. - Rob , posted 11/03/04

Ugh.
No way. HoP's food is awful. Below Denny's grade if you can believe that. Don't let the Los Feliz die-hards fool you, teer clear. - 5000! , posted 10/28/04

Pie Heaven
The entrees are hit or miss, but you can't go wrong with a cup of coffee and a slice of pie. Some of my favorites are the French apple, fresh strawberry and all cheesecakes. The worst thing about this coffee shop is that it's not open 24 hours. - christine , posted 10/28/04

House of Pies restaurant for good pie
House of Pies is open late. THe food is typical diner food, not much different than Denny's. But what's great is the pie. Go for the pie. Every flavor you could ever want, and huge pieces they give you. Coffee and pie and open late, and just across from Los Feliz theatre. - Max , posted 08/31/04

Like House Of Blues, except it's pies
This diner obviously specializes in pies, including fresh fruit and seasonal, plus other goodies like excellent cheescakes and sour cream cakes (Cheesecake Factory, eat your heart out). If you're looking for holiday pies such as pecan, you'd better call ahead and pre-order - the lines are super-long around Thanksgiving and they often sell out. - Max , posted 08/30/04
