The identifying mark of Indicia is one of electronic genius. Twiddling knobs this well doesn’t come without the price of adoration and I haven’t even begun to go into the ethereal singing of Betsy Ullery. A fitting description might be when Portishead would decide to team up with some unknown underground glitchy electronica artist to pout about what’s wrong with electronica at the current juncture. The acid lines penetrate deep while the lyrics coast along the plane of existentialism but find their way into even the most dense individual’s brain and soul. The result? A haunting exploration of sonic experimental electronica that downtempo DJs will be craving after a five second listen to “Corners”. - betsy ullery , posted 07/30/05 |
