You can't find a burger like this anywhere else - Great California original....love it, but can't have it all the time like I used to... I still am not crazy about the fries... - Frances (a.k.a. E... , posted 07/20/07 |

please give me more... I love the double double... I must eat one once a week, it could be why I have steadily growing. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. - sofia , posted 07/20/07 |

if you eat beef and you want something quick, there's not much that can touch this...outstanding friendly service, simple inexpensive menu, and consistently awesome burgers...google "in n out secret orders" to find a long list of off menu preparations...adds to the cult appeal of this chain...by the way I believe it's all family owned, so no franchise opportunity...I suppose that may have changed... - Fred , posted 06/16/07 |

well i am from the UK and when I come out to visit my family, as soon as I have landed I make them drive straight to In-N-Out for my double double... i am seriously considering franchising one over here in the UK as we only have McPuke opps sorry McDonalds :) and Burger King... - Pierceduk , posted 03/25/07 |

Seriously, I am damn near addicted to them. They are like 3 blocks from my place which is just way to convenient :) I just had it tonight :) Can't get enough. - pete , posted 03/25/07 |

It just rocks. And I love they fact they're subtlely Chirstian. That's a good one: they practice, they promote quietly by example (treat their employees well, etc.) but they don't shove it down your throat. YAY! - BouncyBouncyWeee , posted 12/27/06 |

Nothing better then home made burger made with fresh mince etc cooked on a BBQ... sorry, none of these places appeals to me.. some of us are funny about where we get our meat from..lol and that can be taken either way..lol - Melissa , posted 12/13/06 |

I always thought In and out was great for Burgers in Highscool 12 or so years go, but Fatburger is way better. You can get in on a REAL grill with grates on it at Fatburger not the so called skillet grill thats basically frying the thing.! In addtion, their fry do not get cold and soggy after about 5 mins - Josh , posted 12/13/06 |

We aren't rating the cheeseburgers Irene, we're rating the restaurant. (Now, aren't you glad you suggested I join Tribe?) <end rant> <start review> I grew up in the San Gabriel Valley, down the road from the original In-n-Out. A little closer to us, the In-n-Out on Valley Blvd. was next door to the Go-karts place. Dad would take us for Go-karts and burgers every second Sunday or so. That was over 35 years ago. As we got older, we were seduced by more exotic burgers, like the ones from the brand new places in town, McDonalds and Burger King. Years passed, bumper stickers were edited, my standards changed and I learned that In-n-Out paid their employees better than the other places. They paid them almost twice as much an hour and gave them benefits, like profit sharing, even the part timers. I started going back. A few years more passed and I became an animal rights vegan. I learned that McDonalds now practices humane slaughter. There aren't too many things on the MDs menu that are vegan, but I'll give them my money whenever I can. I won't buy what leaves a bad taste in my mouth, and nothing leaves a worse taste in my mouth then a company who's morals are at odds with mine. if you're not into meat, you shouldn't be rating cheeseburgers. end rant. start review. In and Out doesn't sit in my stomach like a greasy turd, the way other fast food does. The fries could be better, but I don't go there for the fries. I go there for burgers that aren't overly processed and the sothickyousuckyourbrainout ice cream shakes. and what is with all the christian hating? just because this country has been taken over by the conservative right, (which have been hijacked by neo-cons in bed with fundamentalist evangelicals) doesn't make it right to lump all Christians in with Jerry Falwell and Pat Buchanan. so what if they print a reference to a bible verse on the bottom of their cups? imagine if there were owned by burners and they printed feel-good phrases on their cups and everyone jumped down their throats and called them dirty hippies? it's a good burger and i can't find any research to support any hidden agenda behind the bible references other than maybe spreading messages of peace, which is not very different from what my fanatical burner friends do from time to time. so 5 stars it gets. nanny nanny poo poo. - Irenie , posted 09/27/06 |

it's good and fresh, but it's the surprisingly the most fattening fast food out there (look it up), and the meat patty could be thicker. no wonder everyone has to order a double double. - ann , posted 09/24/06 |

back on Zet-9, we loved grey meat, but here on earth it's more of a rancid taste experience. I give the old meat of In and Out burger one star and that's only because 0 stars is not an option. - Half , posted 09/06/06 |

Order your fries well done, they come back crunchy and delecious. I am a double-double protien style with raw onions and a vanilla milkshare girl. I may need to go there now. - Elonwy

I love the in and out but I notice that the fries can sometimes be soggy and greasy if not cooked enough..............but if you find a good location.......so good - scott , posted 07/28/06 |

I agree; the rating should be higher for poor In 'n Out! I used to hate burgers, but now I am a professed In 'n Out Junkie. I don't eat fast food -anywhere- else, and I love watching them cut and fry the potatoes right in front of you. Perfect amount of food if you get one combo meal and an extra burger between two people; that way you can split the fries and the refillable drink/water and not feel as guilty for having burger and fries for dinner. Alas, the wait can be deadly and parking impossible during peak hours. - *daisy , posted 07/27/06 |

I like the fact that they serve a deliciously saucy non-vegan grilled cheese hamburger bun and that a "wussy-ass" vegan had a much more useful review of the joint than a 5 star carnivore. In with the In-n-Out and out with the meat-head! Wee. :o) - Mrs. B , posted 07/10/06 |

In-n-Our is better than the majority of the chain fast food burger making factories out there. However, they recieve a star demotition for having bible verses printed on the bottom of their cups. Also, they pretty much only offer hamburgers. Aside from grilled cheese sandwiches. www.zenlemur.com/innout.shtml - Jon , posted 07/10/06 |

You should feel threatened by wussy-ass vegans because they will kick your gank ass all over the parking lot of In-N-Out.... An interesting titbit --- the writer of Fast Food Nation, while railing on the big fast food chains, pretty much had nothing but praise for In-N-Out. Apparently they are the best employers in the fast food industry and they use much higher quality meat in the burgers than the other large chains. The author of FFN said that In-N-Out is basically the only fast food restaurant he would eat at after doing all his research. I personally would be scared by all the Jebus paraphernalia. Oh, and that I never eat fast food. - xxxnowhereboyx , posted 07/10/06 |

Saw a lot of negative reviews by wussy assed vegans, figured I needed to equal the scale out. :) - Jesse , posted 07/10/06 |

How could the overall rating STILL be SO low? I'm sorry, but I think this system is as f***ed as voting in FL in '00 and Ohio in '04! In-n-Out have the BEST burgers, fries and shakes of any place since the classic ones I had in the 1950s. NONE of the other chains--and few local places--can match them. Otherwise, it's all been downhill since MacDonalds and the others hit. Plus--for vegetarians--they have grilled cheese sandwiches (not on the displayed menu, perhaps, but you can ask and get them!).... - Will Beat Hippie ... , posted 07/09/06 |

Admittedly this is a rating from someone who doesn't eat burgers. If I remember correctly, the burgers were good for fast food--which is not to say they are great. The fries really don't taste that good for some reason, fresh or not. And the grilled cheese? white bread, ice berg lettuce, and American cheese--it sort of mimics the texture of real food I guess. The grilled onions are all you get thats even remotely worth the effort of eating. I'll give it a 2 because there are worse fast food places. - Brentt

being less of a carnivore, i usually end up getting their grilled cheese "burger" with grilled onions...and believe it or not...it's pretty damn yummy....more so than their heavy meat burgers. - Saba , posted 07/07/06 |

just went there today. It was as usual very good.....but I was fritened that at the bottom of their cups it has "john 3:16" and their loud speaker is far too loud!!!!!! love ash - v i v a , posted 07/07/06 |

The originators of the drive thru. They don't own a freezer or a microwave anywhere in the chain. There's a reason that there's always a line, and why I'll always gladly wait in that line when I get the chance. - Trilo , posted 07/07/06 |

I like the burgers for sure... remind me of a tasty BBQ burger sometimes. No Animal style anything for me. thats just too greezy for me.. i end up spitting up slime for hours after. and the fries are good for the first few seconds then they turn soggy and chalky. most times i think of going in i drive up and see the huge line at both the drive-thru AND the counter and keep on truckin. bottom line: great burgers if you like 'em simple and greasy. the rest is pretty weak. too bad about the fries :( - seethrusound , posted 07/07/06 |

I still love them, and their fries. They actually taste like potatos...imagine that. - CTP , posted 07/07/06 |

fries are ass. I don' t care how "fresh" the ingrediants are when they fail to be tasty. Elbowing ones way through wannabe gangsta, hard mugging high school car fanatics to get overplayed food from an emancipated 15 year old makes the BK lounge look like Lutece. - Unsubscribed , posted 07/07/06 |

i was born n raised in l.a., and admittedly in-n-out had great burgers. til about 1985ish. then they boomed, expanded, and quality went down. and you know what? their fries SUCK. mealy thick crinkle-cut sticks that turn to potato pulp in your mouth. and change that fry oil more than once a year, will ya? though i do appreciate that they are the only chain fast food place that serves actual 7up, and not sprite or slice or |
