Angel on the Freeway
I was on my way to class one day and got a flat...out of nowhere these Angels stopped and helped me put on the spare!

As my friend commented later.."How civilized!"

Yes, I agree...;o) - alice , posted 10/12/06

FREE Roadside Assistance in LA County
Don't have AAA? Or maybe you've used up all your free AAA services for the next 6 months (like me)? Call Metro Freeway Service Patrol. The number from your cellphone #399.

You can call them for:

* A FREE TOW to a safe predesignated area (not a residence or a private garage);

* Help contacting your auto club;

* Assistance changing tires;

* Jump starting your car;

* Reporting freeway damage or needed repair;

* Refilling your radiator;

* Taping leaky water hoses; and

* Fueling your empty gas tank with a gallon of gas.

* The #399 service is fully staffed by English and Spanish speaking ambassadors, is always open - 24/7, and has facilities to serve the deaf, hearing and speech-impaired, and can provide translation assistance in over 150 languages.

This does not replace emergency service. Use 911 if you need medical, fire department or law enforcement response. But for all non-emergency freeway assistance, dial #399. - Lee , posted 10/11/06
