Traditional Red Beancakes in Japantown
These treats are made fresh while you watch. They are traditional a Japanese sweet treat. The copper cooking rings were brought from Toyko in the 1950's. At one time, Little Toyko in Los Angeles was the only place on the west coast to get them. They now make them in Japantown in San Francisco. I've been eating these since I was a kid, when my dad first introduced me to them.
