The all around best "pet" store!
Hi, I have been visiting Scales 'n' Tails since it first opened. I used to have a business that included common and exotic critters of all types. I have watched this store grow, change, and adjust. I am very pleased to recommend this store, its owner, and its employees to anyone who is looking for anything to do with anything with scales and tails! My father was a veternairian and I have followed his love and thrist for knowledge for all living things. I would be happy to answer any concerns, questions, or whatever, that I can about why I praise Scales 'n' Tails so highly. Thank you :) - Debbie , posted 02/03/08

Fish on Sucka
While yes the old owners were a touch crabby, they sold the place and its under new ownership. The staff is great, the tanks are clean and any store you go to you run the risk of getting a bad fish with parasites to there is no way of knowing this beforehand. I buy all of my fresh and marine tank stuff there. And have for the 4 years i have lived in LA - londonboy , posted 01/04/08

Best reptile place in LA
I can't speak for diseased fish, but they do have great reptiles - in terms of selection, price, and health. The staff is very knowledgeable, though sometimes - especially the owners - they are grouchy. Get past that and they will bend over backwards for you. - Dennis , posted 11/15/06

If you care about your reptiles...
...you'll go to Scales n' Tails. After several bad experiences with the big chains and the opposite of knowledgeable high school kids that work there, I decided to only go to specialized stores. Scales n' Tails has a younger staff who knows their fish and reptiles inside and out. They have reasonable prices, a great selection, friendly faces, and funny shop slogans. Most importantly, the staff seems like they care about their animals and not just their paychecks :) - Stephanie , posted 11/01/04
