THis weekend I had the pleasure of seeing John Cameron Mitchell's newest movie "Shortbus". In this movie is explores the real face of sex, as opposed to the fantasy of what pornography and eroticism creates. It all happens under the auspice of a unique undergroun club that happens in New York known as Shortbus. The various protagonists in the story, a gay couple seeking to create improve thier life and couples counselor/sex therapist who has never had an orgasm work their way through their insecurities and hang ups all under the auspices of this secret salon presided over Justin Bond. Death, love, fantasy, pleasure, compassion and attraction all weave together in an honest and alternative view to the dynamics of sexual interaction and how they shape peoples lives. A must see.
