check out The Abbey - you won't regret it or forget it, no matter how many mojitos you have! Thanks to executive chef Lance for personally ensuring our fabulous time! - Danielle , posted 08/27/07 |

The Abbey is always crowded, but if on thursdays my friends and I usually manage to grab a cabana. This is a great place to go and people watch, straight and gays alike. The food is a bit hit & miss, and the service can be atrocious, but I still enjoy coming here. - Imoz , posted 08/12/07 |

Love the inner look, the music, love how dim the lights are around it's many corners and turns with is perfects for when you hook up with a hot ass and can't wait to get back to the car. - Unsubscribed , posted 02/18/07 |

Okay, so the drinks are expensive, service isn't the best, and you still have to pay for parking- But where else can you go and see sooooo many HOT men all at once........and yes, I'm very aware of the fact that they are gay and I am straight- but really.....who cares! It's eye candy on a friday night and it's better than getting no action at all! I know a ton of the guys who work there- I guess it's like "Cheers" for me.......everybody knows your name! - Michele , posted 02/07/07 |

Sure, the decor is nice, the bartenders are pretty foxy, and theres a TON of decent looking homos... but that place fuckin sucks. The drinks are obviously very expensive, but I don't think particularly good. It gets really fucking crowded, to the point where its often hard to find a place to stand with your friends. The gay diva-house music is consistently horrendous and stereotypical. But worst of all the people there are just so lame. Like someone else mentioned, any deviance from being a compliant, mainstream gay is shunned and unique individuals are not welcome. Obviously not EVERYONE there is stupid, and its not always overcrowded, but more often than not thats the case. It's just not very fun and WAY over-hyped. - Daniel

The abbey is what it is a beautiful castle like exterior with an amazing, homey, cozy, lush interior of luxury. The food especially the crab cakes are amazing the LA night life couldn’t be finer minus the $18 bucks I paid for 2 drinks. :P - Raseny , posted 06/16/06 |

I just wish they sold Corona Light but the $12 Mojitos are worth it! - A , posted 04/24/06 |

The Abbey is always crowded, but somehow my friends and I usually manage to grab a cabana. This is a great place to people watch if you're into gay boys. I am so this is where I get my fix. The food is a bit hit & miss, and the service can be atrocious, but I still enjoy coming here. - Sharon , posted 01/03/06 |

If you like to stand around and stare at people, listen to catty remarks, watch boys show off their muscles (they are good looking for sure) then go there. The food is good, the people suck. No one is there to have fun just stare or snort crack in the bathrooms. Good times. - Isaac , posted 09/06/05 |

it can be bearable on a slow afternoon, when you can sit outside and have a pricey drink, but I personally wouldn't want to caught dead here. - tom , posted 07/25/05 |

Everyone is ruder than a rude donkey on a rude Thursday at this place. God forbid you sit down next to the wrong people, they'll spend the rest of the evening glaring at you with a look that obviously says 'You are not pretty enough to exist. Your friend has no abs. You obviously haven't conformed enough to our eternal standards of everything. You should shrivel up and move to Rosemead. ' WELL MAYBE I WILL, and I'm taking my beer money with me. - Sherrie , posted 06/17/05 |

Overpriced food, overpriced drinks, and single handedly the rudest bartenders and staff in the entire city. I have too much self-esteem to allow myself to be treated like that. And thank God so do most of the people I know. But apparently, a large number of the gay element in Los Angeles doesn’t. If you are in the mood to stand around, pay a lot of money, are an alcoholic (since there is nothing else to do but drink), and be treated like shit from an overdeveloped staff, then this is your place. Oh, and if you deviate from the “gay norm” STAY AWAY, the more edgier you are the more shit you get. - Unsubscribed , posted 05/18/05 |

The Abby has gone through many incarnations, from lame ass coffee house to the now "the uber-abbey" I dig the latest, it's huge but I've gotta give it to em, the floor plan is really nice. It's kinda like outdoorsy fun queer bar meets overpriced Sunset swanky poser bar, with better fashion sense & cuter clientele. The bartenders are hot... straight as a nail for the most part and all of em are "actors", but just adds to the ambiance. Just don't forget to bring your Celphone, Dolce Gabbana knock off, attitude & gold card. And WTF is with all those apple martinis? The bartenders are hot... straight as a nail for the most part and all of em are "actors", but just adds to the ambiance. This club has the most beautiful design, you have to see it to believe it. They make some beautiful Tokyo Teas and Martinis as well - the bartenders all really know their business. They've recently expanded into the space next door, and revamped alot of the existing space with some stunning results. The patio is awesome for people watching, right in the core of WeHo. Check out the pics on the website! - Unsubscribed , posted 11/03/04 |

The Abbey will never die. I am convinced. It started out as a tiny little space, which has now launched into a huge spread complete with at least 3 full bars, a full menu, and is open even for breakfast! I like to go there at night when all the boyz are out to get my adulation dose for the month! The service is wonderful. There is usually a long line to get in on the weekend nights, so show up early. Plenty of places to lounge - -even next to the fireplace. It's just one of the classiest places in L.A., and I have nothing but good memories there. - Lily , posted 10/29/04 |

this is a great place to be and be seen! I've done some wild things in there... and never gotten in trouble! I love that! I don't go for the food. - Stephen , posted 10/28/04 |

If you want to see a symbol of a rising star, look no further than The Abby. I remember when this converted church was a simple independent coffeeshop in the middle of West Hollywood. Now it's an eatery, a club, and a bar. Very trendy; major stars have been rumored to make a stop and mingle with the youthful crowd though I never saw them. Go during the day or off times. Weekend nights (starting as early as Thursdays!) find the place packed. - Joel , posted 09/06/04 |

the abbey is the largest bar in west hollywood. with it's recent expansion, it has four separate bars now. it is casual, and they place good music. it's a nice place to meet up with your friends. - repimar , posted 08/26/04 |

Visit this place with friends for a drink on any given night and it'll be a great one! Or dine for lunch, dinner or Sunday brunch! The food is great, reasonably priced. But try one of their unique martinis, you're bound to love them! By the way, it's mostly gay. But straights enjoy themselves just as much! 692 N ROBERTSON BLVD WEST HOLLYWOOD CALIFORNIA 90069 TEL: 310.289.8410 - Jason , posted 08/26/04 |
