Next, the Thought Occurred: Why Not Show Tribe Some Love
Earlier this morning I was trying to decide upon the right piece of material to send to Best American Sports Writing — believe me, that'll be a real tough challenge — and it hit me: I almost never flog my collected writing to the people who gave me my social networking start.
Tribe's been good to me, ever since it gave me 2005's weird Tribe 25 props. Remember that?

Lot of amazing people on that list. But there's a lot of amazing people on Tribe, period. So, the point of it somewhat eluded me... Except for that lovely Tribester who invited The Kid to cum on her. That was pretty fun. And pointed. (If not pointy.)
But I digress. A third book from me, this one with MTV/Simon & Schuster, is due out next year. Please keep an eye out. I've written another one since 2003's Ghetto Celebrity (aka the project that destroyed/rebirthed my life). That one is Rollin' with Dre, which was a 2008 Random House publication. It's available as an e-book or for Kindle, and I wish you would buy it. Even folks who aren't that much into the story behind Death Row and Dr. Dre are often amused by my wit and ability to turn a phrase. For reals.
But this isn't just about books. It's about my *writing*. Sometimes I do the public radio thing and my hustle takes audio form.
Fans of baseball and/or LSD will be entertained silly by my piece (with my girl and fellow Tribe folk Neille Ilel) on the late, great Dock Ellis. Back in the day, Dock threw a no-hitter while tripping on some pure, Southern California university lab LSD. Here's that joint —

Aw, hell, I do a lot of cool shit. There's my fiction from The Cocaine Chronicles collection.

Honestly? My debut piece of coke fiction not that great, but I'm fascinated by the anthology, if only because it's been translated into Turkish. Who knew they were doing so much blow in Turkey?
If you really wanna go the anthology route, Step into a World is a better deal. It's real cool 'cuz if you aren't feeling my writing — and that's entirely possible — there's work from the likes of Zadie Smith, Colson Whitehead and Junot Diaz with which to distract yourself.

For reals, I don't much sell myself inside of Tribe.net (discounting one off-the-books tribe.) So thanks for putting up with this sales dealie. Consider it a belated family Christmas card. You all are my extended Internet fan.
Talk to you in five years.
