wouldn't be so bad if it hadn't replaced a bar so good
it's hard to go there and sit in such an ugly environment, listening to such awful music, being served by such unfriendly staff, when the memory of Max's lingers... - michael , posted 06/26/06

WHAT DID YOU SAY!!! WHAT I CANT HEAR YOU!!!
Do you think someone actually came up with a concept for a bar where the music is so lame, predictable and LOUD that people would actually have a good time. 5 dollars for domestic beer. Suck my schizzle stick! Who runs this place? - TAOS , posted 01/17/06

a remarkably unremarkable bar
The Dime is one of those little bars that looks like it wants to be a glam Sunset Strip bar when it grows up. It has all the low red lighting, broad mirrors and weirdly attractive bartenders, but it all feels so pretentious and desperate somehow. I mourn the loss of the bar that preceded it, Max's -- the last good bar in L.A. - lori , posted 08/30/04
