Probably my least favorite venue in town. I have seen more than one show at this place and while it's nice that I can actually SEE the bands it's always hot, smelly, crowded and the bartender is about to die from exhaustion. I love the Echo - the vibe is low-key, the clientele are the cutting edge of the music scene (it's a big musician's hang) and the booker is super-sweet! Very cool! I'm glad the Echo is here! One of the clubs that gives me faith in the L.A. music scene. Be sure to look for the address and an old sign that says "El Nayarit" on the outside.. The Echo hosts local bands and DJs, as well as big name acts, e.g. George Clinton plays on September 4th, John Doe was there in August. Cover varies as does the age requirement though many nights are 18+. Once a month you can experience Extreme Wine Tasting on the patio out back for the reasonable fee of $18 for a very good time. - imontome , posted 09/01/04 |
