One bartender and a gaggle of thirsty hipsters = ?
Probably my least favorite venue in town. I have seen more than one show at this place and while it's nice that I can actually SEE the bands it's always hot, smelly, crowded and the bartender is about to die from exhaustion. Why only one bar, one bartender? We need ale to slake our thirst! - Sherrie , posted 06/17/05

The Echo is where it's at!
I love the Echo - the vibe is low-key, the clientele are the cutting edge of the music scene (it's a big musician's hang) and the booker is super-sweet! Very cool! I'm glad the Echo is here! One of the clubs that gives me faith in the L.A. music scene. Be sure to look for the address and an old sign that says "El Nayarit" on the outside.. There is no "The Echo" sign - it's super undercover! - Pam , posted 09/02/04

Music and more
The Echo hosts local bands and DJs, as well as big name acts, e.g. George Clinton plays on September 4th, John Doe was there in August. Cover varies as does the age requirement though many nights are 18+. Once a month you can experience Extreme Wine Tasting on the patio out back for the reasonable fee of $18 for a very good time. - imontome , posted 09/01/04

Cool place for dancing and live music
This place always has some cool shit blowin up there. It's either some cool ass band you have never heard of or a club promoter playing "60' s soul" or "britpop" or some other thing out of left field. The people are nice too. - Melanie , posted 08/30/04

I've always loved this place.
This is a great place to see some very cool live music and djs. They offer something truly different with a very hip crowd and drinks aren't overpriced. I aim to play there as well. Music is nice break from typical rock and roll/hip hop. - Jon , posted 08/26/04
