Tito's Tacos forever
Tito's is a legend. You can never tell anyone from work you are going there or else you'll be taking orders for your entire office. If that's not enough, try Johnnie's Pastrami right around the corner. - Chadland , posted 08/03/07

never been
I have never been there, but if you want a good taco, burrito or something in that relm. N.W. corner of Lankershim Blvd & Sherman Way. I have been going there for over 25 years. priced right & tastes great. The only down fall is the neighborhood is not as nice as it was back then.. - Gary , posted 07/18/06

overrated
Growing up on the westside of la I always heard glowing reports of Tito's Tacos. But, after I ate there I was like, what the hell? The meat is somewhat flavorless and the burritos are over beaned. If you want inexpensive yet good quality try Baja Buds. There is one on national and sepulveda. - awno , posted 04/18/06

Pretty Bad Tacos, the worst burritos
Really bland tacos, the shells are really greasy and tough. They put about half a pound of cheapass cheese on each taco, GROSS!!!

I got a burrito last time (truly my last time) and they didn't wrap it in foil or anything. While I was eating it, it disintegrated in my hands and turned into an inedible pile of mush. To top it off, really weak and flavorless salsa. Even taco bell is better thant this overrated place.

To the first girl who called this "Authentic Mexican Food": WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!?!?! Have you ever been to Mexico? Do yourself a favor and try a taco truck parked on the side of the road and try a taco there. - jg , posted 06/20/05

Oh for the love of frick
Yeah, it may not be the most authentic thing on the planet, yet somehow, these simple shredded beef tacos are heaven on earth if you've got the beer munchies. Or the general munchies. Or the other kind of special munchies. I once dropped a giant cup of their salsa (again, probably not super authentic, but so tasty and hot) in the parking lot and I'm still pissed off about it. - Sherrie , posted 06/17/05

KEEP DRIVING....Not worth the line, not authentic Mexican food... I COOK BETTER at home!
Okay, let me say I've gone to Tito's Tacos since I was about 8 yrs old. Other people took me there.
Every body raves about it like it's all that... and I'm here to tell you, it really ISN'T! Their tacos should be the BEST thing on the menu, wouldn't you think? Now that is all I've ever ordered (besides maybe some pinto beans) and their tacos are "tolerable", but certainly NOT "the bomb". In line, and yes! they are long, be careful for getting your toes stepped on. It's crowded and in the summer when we all have on sandals... LOOK OUT. (ouch!) I have not ordered any thing else on the menu really.. and the other stuff might be alright or even "good"... but skip the tacos and there is always a line. Those little hole in the wall taco places (like the one right next door to it) are probably MUCH better. - KAUPILI , posted 05/24/05

Keep on driving
I too was enticed by the long line that is always outside. I thought the tacos were average at best. I don't think they even make their own taco shells, seemed like Ortega or some other generic brand. I prefer El Tarasco at the beach end of Washington. - onlineZenbobway , posted 03/25/05

Love it!
Tito's rocks my world. On the way from home in mid February 2005, my boyfriend and I thought we'd stop there for dinner. We pulled up and it was closed for floor repair. I was in utter shock! We didn't know what to do! Once you're set for Tito's, nothing else is quite the same. Well, thank goodness they are back open. Heck, that's what I just had for lunch today! Yum! - , posted 03/21/05

I don't get it
I don't get the appeal of Tito's. It's fairly cheap, but the food isn't exceptional by any standards. If I'm going to bother, I'll hit any number of Oaxacan places that dot the Westside before going back to Tito's. - Big Angry Redhead , posted 03/20/05

Worth The Drive
Often I take a pilgramage to Tito's Tacos on the westside. I don't know how to explain it - it's completely gentrified Mexican food. But it makes me and apparently hundreds of others (look at the constant glut of folks that are queued up in eight different lines) feel the same way. Menu is simple - I always get three tacos with cheese - yes, the cheese is extra for some reason or another. And the salsa goes good with the copious amount of gratis chips they give out. It's very old school and it makes me all happy inside. - Quinn , posted 11/11/04

Best value, the only reason to go to the Westside
Tito's Tacos is a not so well kept secret in Culver City. It's reason enough for me to take a trek when I don't have a lot of dough, and I need my greasy Mexican food fix.

Two people can get generous portions for under $15. Yeah, you read correctly.

If you're counting carbs or fat, this is not the place for you. However, if you want a no-frills eat it and beat it place with a cozy suburban charm, then you've come to the right place.

Tito's is a landmark, and you can find multigenerations sitting at the picnic tables outside.

And the icing on the cake....two upright old school arcade games. Galaga/Ms.Pac Man combo, and Pole Position. Yep.

Check it out, you'll be thrilled that you did, and will wonder how you missed out! But sssh, don't tell, as the lines are already out the door. - Lisa , posted 08/30/04

Definitely miss this place
I now live and work a little too far to make an easy trip to Tito's, but I definitely need to. As long as the lines outside the window look, be patient and get there. Pick up a couple of tacos and a beef burrito and you'll be set for the rest of the day. - Polarbeast , posted 08/27/04

Authentic Mexican Food
This is the BEST place to get real Mexican food! It?s not sit down, but nearly a walk-up window with a few seats inside and outside the premises. Your order comes with salsa and chips, but don?t forget the guacamole! Of course the tacos are the best thing to get, but go out on a limb and try the meat and bean burrito or tostada. Don?t miss this hole in the wall when venturing to So Cal. - Unsubscribed , posted 08/27/04
