These guys are simply awesome! They really love the work they do and it shows in their honesty and attention to detail. I've had them work on every VW that I've owned (3 so far). They do everything from standard maintenance to high-end performance upgrades. And what do they do in their spare time when they're not working on VWs? They race them, of course. If you have a VW and are close to LA, it's worth the trip to head over and see Ron Wood at VWS. Ron has raced, modified and repaired VW's for a long time, and i gather his shop is labor of love. Their pricing is extremely fair for the high level of service and quailty. what others have said, "The install of the cams themselves is about a five-hour affair, though Scott at VW Specialties was able to do it in a little under four hours. Just by circumventing the superfluous step of removing the front bumper, and the fact that he knew exactly what each subsequent step in tearing down the engine was? like it was something he had designed himself?he was able to cut an hour off of the projected install time as well as demonstrate why VW Specialties is one of the best in the business." - Parker , posted 09/02/04 |
